Lord, they are close. The room knows. The body is preparing for what comes next.
Be in the bed. Be in the breathing. Be in the hand we are holding while they sleep.
Take the fear that may still be hiding in them. Take the regret that they have not had time to put down. Make this last stretch of road peaceful in a way only You can make peaceful.
For us standing by — let us not perform. Let us not say the wrong cheerful thing. Let us be a quiet, true presence in a moment that does not need a script.
If they have not made peace with You, find a way in I cannot see. If they have, let the peace of that be visible on their face.
You are the One who knows how to carry a soul across. We are not. We are entrusting them. Receive them gently.
