Lord, I am sick. The body is not cooperating. The plans for today are gone.
I do not love this. I do not feel particularly holy about it. I feel tired and behind and frustrated.
Help me receive the rest I did not choose. Help me be patient with the body You gave me. Help me not turn the recovery into another thing to optimize.
Be with the parts that hurt. Be with the parts that are working twice as hard to fix the parts that aren't.
If this is something small, walk it through and out. If it is something bigger, walk with me into what comes next, one appointment at a time.
I am not above being sick. I am Yours, even like this. Especially like this.
