Lord, I have been gone a while.
Not officially. I never announced anything. I just stopped showing up. The mornings got quieter than the noise. The prayers got shorter than the scrolling. The faith became a memory I kept in the same drawer as the church bulletin.
I am back. I do not know how I look. I do not have a speech prepared.
I just know You said come.
Do not let me waste time on the speech. The father in the story ran. He did not wait for the explanation. Run again, the way You always do, before I have it figured out.
I am not coming back as the version of me I was before. I am coming back as the version of me that left and is older now. Receive that one.
In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
