The Temptation That Keeps Coming Back

Father, it is the same thing again. The same pull. The same lie. The same hour of the night.

I am tired of fighting this. I am more tired of losing.

Be the way out You promised. Not a feeling that it has passed. An actual way out. A different room. A different thought. A different tomorrow.

Help me close the door before I am in front of it. Help me name the trigger before it has me. Help me reach for You before I reach for the thing.

I am not asking You to take the desire away forever. I am asking You to be stronger than it, today, one more time.

If I fall, do not let me stay down. If I stand, do not let me get proud. Either way, do not let me face this alone.
