Lord, it is Friday. The week is almost done and I am almost done with it.
I want to coast out. I want to half-finish the last hour. I want to be already on the couch.
Hold me here until the work is actually finished. Let me close the day with care, not relief. Let me leave the desk the way I want to find it Monday.
Thank You for the week. The good in it. The hard in it. The mercies I did not notice in real time.
Now teach me how to rest. Not numb. Not scroll. Rest. The kind that returns me to You.
